Pretty Lights Recruits Fans To Spread The Word About Upcoming Shows

If you’re a fan of Pretty Lights, then chances are you already know what this article is about. For years running the electronic/glitch hop artist based out of Colorado has rocked the stage at one the world’s most acclaimed venues. Having said that, It’s no shock that Pretty Lights will be playing shows at Red Rocks yet again this year - this is something that is essentially an annual festival now. But what is unique about this year, though, was the way that the mastermind behind Pretty Lights, Derek Smith, went about announcing it. In what he labeled a “Pretty Lights Social Experiment,” Smith anonymously sent out just 50 total packages to PLFamily members - 25 in Colorado and 25 in the Chicago area - detailing the upcoming shows. It wasn’t just some simple show announcement, either. Along with the packages came USB ports filled with plenty of unreleased live edits that Smith recorded at various shows dating back to 2016. Fans who received packages were encouraged to share both the announcements and the music with their friends and networks, before Pretty Lights confirmed the shows on his social media platforms earlier today.

Earlier this year, Pretty Lights announced two shows at the world renowned Gorge Amphitheater, shows that will begin “Season Two” of his episodic tour that dates back to last year. His Red Rocks shows will be “Episode 07”, featuring supporting acts G Jones, Manic Focus, SoDown, and Daily Bread. The following weekend, Pretty Lights will hit Chicago for Episode 08. Those shows featuring funk favorites The Floozies, Big Wild, and The Soul Rebels, as well as up and comer Maddy O’Neal among plenty others. Tickets to both shows will be available through Pretty Lights’ direct-to-fan pre-sale starting Wednesday May 17th, 2017, before reaching the public pre-sale on Friday May 19th, 2017.
